If you haven’t seen Sardun1 work her glossy magic on YouTube check her out here , and, of course, subscribe!
Q: Let’s start with the basics! What is your name and age?
My name is Sarah and I’m 25. I’ll be 26 in June. 26!! I’m getting old!
Q: Do you have any nicknames?
Sar, Sarita ( that’s the Spanish nickname for Sarah), Sarah Pear, Sarah Bella, Bella
Q: Does anyone ever tell you that you look like someone famous? If so, who?
In REAL life people tell me I look like Shania Twain, Kate Beckinsale, Sara Evans but on YT I get people I’ve never heard of or really old actresses. I must look totally different on camera than in person. Someone told me last week I looked like Linda Carter (Wonder Woman) when she was younger. She has dark hair…but other than that…I don’t see it.
Q: We always see you sitting down on camera! How tall are you?
I’m only 5’2″. People always think I’m much taller but I’m very short. Sometimes I think I’d like to be 5’8″ but at the end of the day I think 5″2″ is just fine.
Q: How long have you been doing videos on YouTube? What got you started doing them?
I started doing them 2 weeks before my 2nd son was born. So, it’s been 6 months. I was looking for a review on a NARS blush through Google and up popped a video from YouTube. I had NO idea that there were make-up reviews or make-up lovers on YouTube. From that day on I’ve become totally addicted to it. I thought it would be fun to try it and I’m so happy I did. I’ve learned so much from so many amazing girls.
Q: How has YouTube affected your life?
Well, it’s probably caused me to spend WAY to much money. It’s hard not to want a product when someone is raving about it. It’s also been a GOOD thing for me as well. I moved to a new town where I don’t know anyone so it’s helped me connect with like-minded make-up lovin’ girls who totally “get me”.
Q: Do all of your family and friends know about your videos?
Not all of my family knows about it. It’s not something I really talk about….I get bashful about it for some reason. Only two of my friends know about it. One friend found me on YT and the other friend I told her cause I needed to vent about a hater comment.
Q: What do your friends and family think about your beauty product obsession?
They think I have a problem. My husband gets on my case a lot because he thinks I don’t need more products. I don’t NEED them… he’s right….but I WANT them and BAD!!
Q: How long have you been married? How did you and your husband meet?
I’ve been married for 2 years. My husband and I went to middle school together and I thought he was so cute. He was a grade older than me and no idea who I was. We ran into each other a few years ago and hit it off…and the rest is history. Marriage, babies and a mortgage later… oh how life changes.
Q: Has your outlook on beauty changed since becoming a mother?
Oh yes…it’s quick and natural looking. I don’t need to be a crazy done up mother with bright red lips and blue eye shadow (not that there is anything wrong with those colors!!!). I don’t have 45 minutes to perfect my make-up. I have 5 minutes if I am lucky. I try and find products that still give a flawless look but in a quick no fuss way. I think it’s VERY important to still do your make-up when you are a mom. Most days you feel like a zombie and frumpy but if you find a quick 5 minute make up routine you will feel 10 times better and more confident/beautiful.

Q: We know that you have 2 sons, but if you had a daughter, what would you teach her about beauty? Would you let her raid your collection?
If I had a daughter ( someday I hope!) I would tell her that natural is best. When I say natural I don’t mean not wearing make-up. I would try to teach her how to bring out her natural beauty and her features in colors that won’t overpower her beauty. I wear a lot of make-up but I do it in a way that it doesn’t look that way. I’d let her play with all my make-up. My kids having fun is more important than any product.
Q: Is it difficult to find the time to do videos amidst your busy baby chasing?
Very. I can’t tell you how many videos I’ve filmed that never made it to YouTube because someone is crying. By try 5 I usually give up and try it another day. I try to make videos during nap time when they are both sleeping. It doesn’t always work!
Q: We know you love your subscribers! But is there anything that you get sick of being told or asked?
To be honest, not really. I’m happy to answer their questions. I get sick of people pointing out if I say something wrong, make a mistake or the lighting is bad. It hurts my feelings a little bit because I feel sometimes people can be a little more abrasive online. I’d say 97% of my experiences. have been amazing and I truly adore all the girls who have subscribed. They are so sweet and helpful to me!
Q: You always look so glam in your videos! Do you ever leave the house without doing your makeup?
Most the time I don’t but if I have to run to the post office or store really quick and didn’t put make-up on than it’s not the end of the world to me. I’m really a down to earth kinda girl and CAN leave the house without make-up… but I don’t really like to.
Q: What are a few of your “obsessions” right now (foods, designers, TV shows, songs, etc.)?
I can’t get enough of Desperate Housewives, American Idol, The Hills and HGTV shows. I have a sweet tooth so I crave Coke (caffeine free, of course) and milk duds. I’m obsessed with wanting to redo my kitchen floors…I hate them right now. I don’t really have a favorite song or designer at the moment.
Q: Do you ever have buyer’s remorse for spending on products?
Probably every time I buy a new product. I know that I really probably shouldn’t but I’m finding out I don’t really have self control. I get over it quick though when I see how pretty the product looks on!:)
Q: What draws you to buy a certain product or brand of makeup? Usually the color and the feel of it. If something is sticky or chalky it totally turns me off to it. Pretty packaging doesn’t hurt!
Q: Has YouTube contributed to your product obsession? How long do you go before wanting to buy and try a new product?
It’s been horrible for my obsession. I see something new I want everyday. If I want something then I ordered it within that day or the next. I honestly have full intentions of being good but most the time I fail at that one.
Q: What are some of your absolute favorite beauty products?
St. Tropez is a “where have you been all my life” kinda product. I don’t know why I haven’t been using it for years. It would have save me from a lot of sun damage. It’s simply amazing. I totally love the MAC Viva Glam V lip gloss. Lilash is a miracle product. It seriously works and grows long lashes. A mascara I’m totally loving at the moment is the YSL Faux Cils. Put the Lilash and the Faux Cils together and it creates false looking lashes!
Q: What are some products that you have tried and would recommend everyone avoid?
MAC foundations are horrible on my skin. Some girls who have used it developed cystic ache and thought it was hormonal and continued the use of that foundation only to find out years later it was the foundation causing the horrible ache. I know of several woman that this happened to. I’m not trying to bash MAC foundations because they work for a lot of people but they also have caused cystic ache in others so I’d just be careful when using it.
Q: Out of your brush collection, which ones do you find yourself reaching for the most?
MAC 129 is the perfect blush brush! 165 and 109 work the best for contouring the cheek bones. I reach for the 129 daily!
Q: Do you have any beauty secrets or tips that you think most other people don’t know about?
The only main secret I have is how to wear a lot of make-up in a natural way that looks like you are wearing hardly nothing. St. Tropez bronzer is my secret weapon. It gives such a beautiful glow and helps make your make up look amazing. The St. Tropez whipped bronze mousse is a MUST have! Diaper rash cream makes an amazing face mask! Your face will be as smooth as a baby’s bottom when you are done!
Q: Is there anything that you collect, aside from makeup?
I’m trying to build up a huge DVD collection so I guess you could say I collect movies. I’d say we have around 300 so far.
Q: Can you tell us some fun facts that we probably don’t know about you?
I’m very adventurous! I moved to Guatemala all alone when I was 19. I’ve climbed volcanoes, worked at orphanages, studied Spanish and savored every moment in that country. I love to dance. I didn’t get my drivers licenses until I was 21. Don’t ask me why… I don’t know WHY. I think I was scared. I had a horrible driving teacher when I was 15 and I think she scared me!
Q: We want to play Pee Wee’s Playhouse. Will you slip a “secret word” into your next video for our readers? The secret word is “Bananas”.
I’ll probably have bananas on my shirt that day from the baby.. so I’ll be happy to throw that word in there!
