Animal Cruelty And The Future of Glimmer. Gloss. Glow.

January 06, 2010

Hello my beauties.  It’s a new year and it has come time that I talk to you all about something that has been weighing on my mind.  Some of you know that I made the switch from vegetarian to vegan awhile back and while it originated as a food-centered decision, it has quickly branched into every aspect of my life.  Without a doubt, a  big part of my life is focused on beauty products, designed to give us that hint of glimmer, a touch of gloss, and an absolute glow.  But unfortunately, there is nothing beautiful about the process that brings us so many of our precious products.  As you may have guessed by now, I’m talking about animal testing.  I want to start off by saying that you don’t have to stop reading this right now and walk away feeling excluded or attacked for not having the same point of view as me, because that just isn’t and never will be what I am about.  This is something very personal to me and there is no way that I could live with myself if I continued to promote brands and products that practice the torture of another living creature, all for the sake of my vanity.  Animal testing is not slaughter, it is something far worse.  Living, breathing creatures are kept in a constant state of suffering, not even awarded the luxury of death, so that “glamorous” lotions, creams, and potions can improve my appearance.  That just isn’t pretty.  So from this day forward, Glimmer. Gloss. Glow. pledges to exclusively feature, review, recommend cruelty-free products.  Thank you all for your continued support!
