Confessions of a YouTube Makeup Guru: gypsydancermacaholic

May 15, 2009

My blog and my channel are an extension of me. I like to shop and try new things and tell people about them but I don’t buy things just because everyone else has them or is wearing them. Of course that’s hard to say with makeup but it’s true.

Confessions of a YouTube Makeup Guru: LisaSz09

I actually used to put a comment on every new subs page to say thank you! When I hit 2k I had to stop it was getting too much! I had to decide would I rather answer comments on videos or send thank you messages to everyone! So I try to remember to say thanks to all my new subscribers when I can, but I think people appreciate that it is hard to keep up with that many people. I do however pride myself in answering all comment on my videos!

Confessions of a YouTube Makeup Guru: macface2adore

When I was a little girl, and I mean little. I was probably about 3 or 4, my grandparents would take me into town and allow me to purchase makeup, false fingernails, nail polish…the works basically. My Mom wasn’t a big fan so most of it stayed at their home to play with when I went to visit. We only lived two doors down so I was there quite frequently. I definitely believe my girly girl and “old fashioned etiquette” behavior was handed down to me by my grandmother. She past away from breast cancer in 2000, but the girly girl has never left me. I still have all of her makeup and jewelry in a case that I love to look through at times, just to remember everything I played with as a child.

I am willing to pay more for a product if I know it’s going to last. I like the pretty packaging of some products but then discover they suck so I just look for what’s going to still be on my face after I have been teaching for 8 hours and coaching softball. I want what I put on at 5 am to still be on at 8pm when I get home!

I’m very adventurous! I moved to Guatemala all alone when I was 19. I’ve climbed volcanoes, worked at orphanages, studied Spanish and savored every moment in that country. I love to dance. I didn’t get my drivers licenses until I was 21. Don’t ask me why… I don’t know WHY. I think I was scared. I had a horrible driving teacher when I was 15 and I think she scared me!

“It doesn’t bother me that they are trying to criticize me because really, who are they? What bothers me is how close-minded they are.”
