The Coastal Scents 10 Piece Professional Blush Palette comes in a 9″ x 4″ matte black case with “Coastal Scents 10 Color Blush Palette” and “www.coastalscents.com” printed on the top in white. The palette contains ten 1.5″ diameter blush pans which is just the right size to fit a fluffy blush brush into, but not large enough for a big powder brush if that is what you prefer to use with blush. As far as the blushes themselves go, the formula is amazing. The color comes off on the brush as a lightweight creamy powder with high pigmentation that is not at all flaky or chalky. The blendability of these blushers is fantastic and they are not like some more affordable products that are apparently powdery and just sit there on your cheek. The colors included in this set are just beautiful. You can find something to go with any look in this palette and it would be the perfect buy for anyone new to or looking to experiment with blush.

The Coastal Scents 28 Piece Eye Shadow Neutral Palette comes in the same plain black matte 9″ x 6″ case as the Contour and Blush Palette. The 28 shadow pans are about 1″ in diameter each. As the name implies, this palette is filled with all different shades and formulas of neutral eye shadows. The shadows in this palette are of good quality, just as all of Coastal Scents products, but possibly not as pigmented as preferred. A primer helps this issue, but the majority of the shadows are still not pigmented comparatively to MAC or Urban Decay. My favorite shadows of this palette are those located around the outer edges of the palette, the most pigmented. The texture of most of the shadows is very smooth, but as the formulas in this palette are mixed, and a few are chalky.

With the Coastal Scents Contour and Blush Palette, one simply cannot judge a book by its cover. The Coastal Scents Contour and Blush Palette comes in a 9″ x 6″ x .5″ matte black case. The casing is flimsy plastic, and the more you open it the more you feel like it is going to break apart. But when I actually tried the productI will remembered why I continue to order from Coastal Scents.

The Hello Kitty release has come and gone, but its legacy is not going to die out quite as quickly. Hello Kitty hauls, tutorials, and blog entries are going to be hot in the makeup community for at least a few more weeks. And I know that when I see a cosmetics bandwagon I go running and screaming towards it, so of course I had to take a look. It is common knowledge that MAC knows how to create a hype and they lived up to it with Hello Kitty. MAC is not necessarily just about cosmetics; it is about the announcement and the waiting, the gossip, the parties, and the packaging. As for the products themselves, they are so impressive! Even the boxes that the products come in are adorable. The product packaging itself is exactly what I was hoping for, if not better. The adorable Hello Kitty head adorns every compact or lid, and the glossy black packaging is textured with pink glitter. I don’t know about everyone else, but the MAC Hello Kitty Collection brought out the squealing little girl in me, complete with “I want it and I want it NOW!”

Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour is the most amazing lipstick in my vast collection. The texture of this lipstick is so smooth and moisturizing that you will think you have on a lip treatment rather than a full color lipstick. The color does not last on my lips any longer than most lipsticks, but the packaging is so luxurious that you will not mind throwing it in your handbag for touch ups. The packaging is created in a way that the lid does not accidentally get knocked off in your purse or makeup bag and get product everywhere. The tube is spring loaded and by simply pushing on the gold double C logo bottom, the tube pops out of the black shiny case. A few colors of this lipstick have come and gone from my collection, but my favorite is Silhouette. Silhouette is a mid tone mauve pink and works well for me as an everyday lip color, but as everyone’s natural lip pigmentation and skin tone are different, it is best to visit a Chanel counter and see which works best on you. Chanel Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour is available for $30 at Chanel, Macy’s, Nordstrom, SAKS, and Neiman Marcus, as well as their websites. Continue Reading

The Urban Decay Deluxe Palette is beyond thrilling. The shadows literally feel like suede when you run your finger over them and the color pay-off is true to pan in one gentle swipe. The palette comes with Fishnet ,pinkish purple satin, Honey, rich gold shimmer, Ransom, bright bluish purple satin, Graffiti, bright green satin, Zero, black with a hint of shimmer, Peace, pool blue shimmer, Shag, light brown shimmer, Scratch, light pink shimmer, and Underground, medium brown shimmer. None of the shadows use the chunky glitter that so many Urban Decay shadows contain, making it perfect for the sparkle-phobic. Each eye shadow is approximately a 1″ square. The outer packaging of the Urban Decay Deluxe Palette is definitely fun, with the vibrant shadows housed in a 5″ x 4″ purple velvet and silver mesh magnetic closure case. The inside contains a nice sized mirror and two double sided sponge tip applicators. This palette is perfect for anyone who is not afraid of vibrant colors or is wanting to try something bold and new. It is available for $38 at Sephora, Ulta, or UrbanDecay.com and for nine deluxe shadows, that is a great deal.

If you own a television or have picked up a magazine then you’ve probably heard the hype over the last few years about parabens being dangerous to your health and leading to breast cancer or other cancers as well. Celebrities like Courtney Cox believe the hype! Do you?
